PWc has inaugurated the first Digital Resilience Centre (DRC) in Casablanca, Morocco, in the Middle East North African (MENA) to combat cybersecurity challenges in the region.

The launch, attended by Industry and Commerce Minister Ryad Mezzour, underscores Morocco’s growing role as a regional hub for digital innovation and cybersecurity.

The DRC provides strategic and operational support in data protection, financial crime prevention, and business continuity, offering 24/7 managed cybersecurity services to both Moroccan and international clients. Its operations are built on four key pillars – Managed Cyber, Managed Cyber Defence, Digital Identity, and Cloud Security — enabling businesses to navigate evolving digital risks with agility and confidence.

According to the Senior Regional Partner at PwC, Réda Loumany, the initiative embodies the firm’s vision of combining innovation with trust. “Technology should serve people, and cybersecurity is fundamentally about trust,” he said, emphasising PwC’s investment in training and local talent development.

The DRC aligns closely with Morocco’s national ‘Cybersecurity Strategy 2030’, which aims to train over 100,000 digital and cybersecurity specialists by the end of the decade. PwC plans to contribute to this goal by deploying 100 dedicated consultants to the centre by 2030.

Jamal Basrire, PwC Partner and Technology Consulting Leader, highlighted the centre’s mission to deliver scalable, context-specific solutions for companies at different stages of cyber maturity. He noted that Africa’s talent gap and rising digital threats demand collaborative, sustainable responses.

Leveraging PwC’s global network of 7,800 cybersecurity experts and continuous operations through a “follow-the-sun” model, the Casablanca centre integrates local expertise with global best practices. Beyond technology, it aims to enhance human capital, digital sovereignty, and resilience, reinforcing Morocco’s position as a gateway for Africa’s digital transformation and a trusted player in the global cybersecurity landscape.
